A FARMER was slain in an ambush conducted by still unidentified assailants in Purok 2, Barangay Tag-amakan, Asturias, Cebu.
Based on reports reaching Camp Crame in Quezon City, the victim, identified as Roldan Cuyos Bernido, 54 years old from Asturias, Cebu sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body that resulted to his death.
According to Police Senior Master Sgt. Gilmer Noval, investigator from the Asturias Police Station, Bernido was seen riding his motorcycle when he was fired upon by the still unidentified assailant, who quickly fled the scene after the fatal shooting.
It was learned that a similar attempt was made on Bernido’s life last year but the victim survived.
Land dispute is seen by authorities as possible motive for the killing.
