Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV announced on his Twitter account that his mother, aged 87, has passed away due to complications caused by her advanced Parkinson’s condition, August 6.
“It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mrs. Estelita Fuentes Trillanes,” Trillanes wrote as his caption.
“She died of complications due to her advanced Parkinson’s condition. She was 87,” Trillanes added.
According to National Institute on Aging, Parkinson’s disease pertains to a “brain disorder that leads to shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with walking, balance, and coordination.” Occuring symptoms can be relieved through medicinal intake, therapies, and surgical therapy but as of this writing, no treatment can cure the disease.
Shown in the photo the former senator has uploaded is a captured moment of his family including her mother standing beside him during his graduation ceremony in Philippine Military Academy (PMA).
Trillanes, who coincidentally turned 50 on the same day, has then received messages condoling the demise of his mother.
