A FORMER commissioner of the Commission on Audit (COA) revealed that the auditor who worked on the Department of Health (DOH) audit report has died due to heart attack.

This was revealed by former COA commissioner Heidi Mendoza in a Facebook post.

Today I weep for my former colleague. A COA-UN auditor who just died of heart attack. He is the auditor behind DOH report,” Mendoza wrote atop her unedited caption.

It was last August 4 when Mendoza learned about Jake Cimafranca’s passing. However, she revealed it during the latter’s burial, a day after President Rodrigo Duterte defended the Department of Health (DOH) on its COA-flagged funds.

Mendoza also emphasized that the state auditors’ job is not a laid-back matter as it takes a heavy toll and mental distress on them.

Stress can kill, please let us offer a minute of prayer!” the former head expressed.

Sa Team Leader ng DOH, Jake, may the heaven open up and receive your soul together with all our prayers for the country and the institution we served,” she added.

Cimafranca, a lawyer and also the state auditor on the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) report, is the man behind the controversial Department of Health (DOH) audit report, which flagged the agency’s management of funds allotted for the response against COVID-19.
