PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte said that unvaccinated persons caught outside their homes will be escorted back to their homes by the police, unless they are heading to vaccination sites.
He said those who do not want to be inoculated should just stay at home.
According to the president, vaccines should be given to those who are willing to get the shot while those who are not keen on taking jabs would have to stay indoors so they would not catch or pass on the virus in case they have unknowingly caught it.
The chief executive underscored that it behooves upon the barangay chiefs to make the rounds and see who are vaccinated and who are not.
The President said he can’t wait for a law that will restrict unvaccinated persons from going around and there’s a need for him to act now since public safety is at stake in the midst of the threat from the more infectious mutated variant of the coronavirus.
Iyan ang problema,” he argued.
A group of health experts called for a “circuit-breaking” lockdown in the National Capital Region due to the threat posed by the highly contagious Delta variant of COVID-19, which has wrought havoc in Indonesia, Malaysia, India and other parts of the world.
