Eight other passengers of Emirates Flight EK 332 that carried the first Filipino who was found with the COVID-19 UK variant, also tested positive for COVID-19.
It was not known whether the eight was also found with the UK variant of the virus.
Samples taken from the eight passengers were already sent by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to the Philippine Genome Center (PGC) for further examination and testing to determine which virus variant it contains.
