PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte must have sighed relief as he has not had any recent meeting with a Cabinet member who had just been tested positive to the deadly virus from Wuhan, China.
Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez himself admitted his predicament, which now makes him the fourth member of President Rodrigo Duterte’s Cabinet to fall prey to COVID-19.
Lopez, who claimed he tested positive on Monday, said he was exposed to a person with COVID-19 last week. He is asymptomatic and is now in isolation.
Lucky for President Rodrigo Duterte, whom Lopez claimed has not had any recent interaction with him.
Prior to Lopez, other Cabinet members who were infected include Public Works Secretary Mark Villar, Education Secretary Leonor Briones and Interior Secretary Eduardo Año.
The Philippines has confirmed 422,785 coronavirus infections as of Tuesday.
