IF there is one quality that President Rodrigo Duterte wants to see, the country’s next leader should be a lawyer and should have compassion on his fellow Filipino.
This was the president’s reply to an interview question as to what qualities he wants to see in a leader that the public will vote for in the May 2022 elections.
The president said that among the things he learned from his father was about being merciful and compassionate to others.
Being a lawyer, he said, is another good quality in the country’s next leader because of a lawyer’s ability to decide quickly on various challenges and issues.
That way, he or she would be able to know quickly the possible results and effects of his or her decision.
The president added that the next leader should a good judge of a person’s character, which is important in choosing individuals that would comprise the next leader’s cabinet that will be able to help push for programs and policies in governing the country.
