Drug suspect, cohorts nabbed in Zambales buy-bust

SAN MARCELINO, ZAMBALES – Four individuals were arrested during an illegal drug buy-bust operation conducted by joint elements of the Zambales Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) led by PLt. Niño Ryan Opinga, Provincial Intelligence Unit, and San Marcelino Police Station led by Police Major Janice Piga in Barangay Rabanes in this town on Sunday evening, July 11.

According to PLt. Felix Laron III, DCOP, the police sting operation yielded 28 sachets of suspected crystal meth weighing approximately 20 grams with street value of P136,000 and several drug paraphernalia.

The target suspect who was identified as thirty two year-old Minalyn Calderon y Beza, a resident of San Antonio, Zambales was arrested along with her cohorts Eloi Dalpazi y Janawi, Jayson Villagracia y Ednalan, and Jonalyn Sanchez y Yusayan, all of legal age and residents from nearby towns.

Police records bare that Calderon is a member of a notorious criminal group and is tagged as a “High Value Individual” while Dalpazi and Ednalan were arrested in 2013 and 2016. respectively,  over drug-related cases.

All four suspects are included in the PNP’s “watch list.”

Criminal charges pursuant to violation of Sections 5 in relation to 26 (b), 11 and 12 under Article II of R.A. 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared for filing against the suspects before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Olongapo City on Monday, July 12.
