THREE high-value individuals were arrested during separate drug buy-bust operations on Friday in Cebu City and Bohol province, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.
Citing reports from Police Regional Office (PRO) 7, PNP Chief, Police General Guillermo Eleazar said that operatives of the City Intelligence Unit of the Cebu City Police Office, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 conducted a buy-bust operation at around 11:25 pm of May 28, 2021 in Cabantan Street, Brgy. Luz,, Cebu City.
This resulted in the arrest of the drug suspects identified as Vencent Mayol Suplac alias Dodong, 27 years old, and Giovanni Montecalvo Ambray alias Gio, 25 years old, and a construction worker.
The operation yielded 1,025 grams worth of shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P6.97 million.
In another operation, operating teams of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Maribojoc Municipal Police Station in coordination with PDEA Bohol arrested Arnel Tubaon Rivera, a 23-year-old at Purok 6, Brgy. Punta Cruz, Maribojoc, Bohol.
Confiscated from Rivera were 110 grams of shabu with a street value of P748,000, a sling bag, and one unit of a cellular phone.
“I would like to commend the men and women of PRO 7 especially those who were involved in the successful operations,” PGen. Eleazar said.
Appropriate charges are now being prepared against the suspects for Violation of Sections 5 and 11 of R.A 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
