Displaced workers in FAB receive cash aid from DSWD

MARIVELES, Bataan – ABOUT 7,492 displaced workers at the Freeport Area of Bataan received assistance from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Each beneficiary got PhP3,000 under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation of the agency.

Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) Administrator Emmanuel Pineda said this is among the aid given to workers under their FABayanihan project. 

Apart from DSWD, Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority will also provide assistance in order to help them develop their skills and abilities so they can have an additional source of income amid the pandemic.

“AFAB is continuously coordinating with the provincial government and private institutions as well as stakeholders so we can provide proper assistance to our workers in order for them to survive in these trying times,” Pineda added.

Aside from the financial assistance, AFAB also includes programs that promote mental wellness to employees so they can be encouraged and fight anxiety during the pandemic.

FABayanihan IDs were also distributed to workers for easier access, monitoring and facilitating of the distribution of assistance to the workers.

Meanwhile, the Office of Senator Bong Go donated grocery packs, face masks, face shields and vitamins to the workers and raffled shoes, 20 computer tablets and 20 bicycles.
