Disney Studios looking for Filipino “Lola”

If you have a grandmother (“Lola”) who speaks good English, who knows? She may be cast in an upcoming Walt Disney Studios movie.

In a casting call on popular casting website projectcasting.com, Walt Disney Studios, through Hollywood casting director Sarah Finn of Sarah Finn Casting, known for its casting work in Avengers: Endgame, The Mandalorian, Guardians of the Galaxy, is looking for a Filipino or Filipino-American who will play the role of a grandmother in an upcoming film.

The applicant should be a female between the ages of 50 and 90 years old who can act although acting experience is not required. Applicants should be willing to fly to Atlanta, Georgia, USA where the film location will be.

They can share their story in a video speaking in Tagalog or any other language used in the Philippines, but should introduce themselves primarily in English, the casting call said.

Applicant should also be authorized to work in the US, either as a US citizen, green card holder or O-1 visa holder, according to the casting call post.

The role will require a few shooting days in Atlanta, Georgia by mid-February 2021. No mention was made of the title of the project and other details.
