DILG releases show-cause orders vs LGUs who have not yet completed distribution of “ayuda” for typhoon victims

THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) already released show-cause orders against 48 local government units (LGUs) who up to now have not yet completed the distribution of financial assistance or “ayuda” to victims of Typhoon Odette.

This was the report of DILG Secretary Eduardo Ano to President Rodrigo Duterte in his “Talk to the People” last night.

Ano said he is already asking the LGUs to explain the slow distribution of the financial assistance to the beneficiaries.

Among the LGUs in question are three from Mimaropa or Region 4-B, 16 from Region 6, 13 from Region 7 and 16 in Region 8.

At present, Ano said they have already distributed the P4.15 billion financial assistance equivalent to about 85.52 percent 4,010,092 beneficiaries.

Based on the records of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, around 405 were recorded dead while 52 people are still reported missing after the onslaught of Typhoon Odette.
