THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said it is already finalizing the list of local government units (LGUs) seen to have performed poorly in implementing the rollout of the government’s vaccination program in their respective areas.

The DILG will send show-cause orders to the LGUs that placed dead last or showed low performance scores in their vaccination rollout.

According to DILG spokesperson Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, they are just waiting for the approval of DILG Secretary Eduardo Ano. They are eyeing to send the show-cause orders by the end of the week.

He said the performance of all LGUs with low vaccination rates and subject for the issuance of show-cause orders underwent extensive validation by the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC).

Malaya said the DILG wants to find out why the officials of these LGUs failed to achieve a high rate of vaccination in their areas and why there was a high volume of vaccine wastage in their jurisdictions.

For now, the NVOC is also finalizing the list of LGUs who will need to explain the reason for their slow vaccination rate.
