A DAY after the Supreme Court, sitting as presidential electoral tribunal, threw out his protest against Vice President Leni Robredo over the results of the 2016 vice-presidential derby, former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will definitely run in the 2022 national elections, according to his spokesperson Vic Rodriguez.

“He will be definitely running for 2022,” Rodriguez said in a television interview.

Marcos’ spokesperson, however, would not confirm whether or not his boss would be joining the presidential fray, where he is expected to meet the same person who beat him back in 2016.

“We will be making an announcement as to his plans for 2022,” Rodriguez said.

Supreme Court spokesperson Brian Hosaka earlier told reporters that the court unanimously voted to junk the protest, nearly five years after it was filed by Marcos on June 29, 2016.
