THE Department of Education (DepEd) said it already submitted documents to the Commission on Audit (COA) in relation to the supposed purchase of laptops.
The COA flagged the DepEd regarding the P2.4 billion worth of laptops that the DepEd procured for its teachers that was coursed through the Procurement Service of the Department of Budget and Management.
According to DepEd spokesperson Michael Poa, the COA’s findings were already relayed to them since March.
He said they are awaiting feedback from the COA since the findings were still inconclusive.
It was learned that the group BAYAN slammed the alleged corruption in the DepEd, which it said should be placed under Senate investigation.
The laptops procured by DepEd were supposedly priced at P35,000 but a total of P58,000 were paid for each unit.
