Dengue in Manila still manageable and not alarming — Manila DRRMO

MANILA Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) chief Arnel Angeles assured that the number of dengue cases in the City of Manila is not alarming and still manageable.

The statement from Angeles came during the fogging and misting operations done in the city today, particularly at the Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center, where some patients are confined due to dengue.

Angeles also assured that the anti-dengue operations of the MDRRMO, together with the Manila Health Department (MHD) will continue in order to prevent the number of dengue cases in the city from rising.

It is also their objective to avoid dengue from spreading to nearby barangays coming from barangays with a high number of dengue cases.

In fact, Angeles said they are already conducting fogging and misting operations daily.

The other barangays, on the other hand, conduct fogging and misting operations on their own, plus other activities to control dengue such as cleaning of the surroundings.

Based on the latest numbers issued by the MHD, the city has not less than 200 confirmed dengue cases from January 2022 up to June 25, 2022.
