A MAGNITUDE 5.8 quake hit the waters off Tarragona, Davao Oriental at about 4:20 p.m. today.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said it had already pinpointed its origins, which is about 2 kilometer under the ocean.
The quake was felt at about Intensity 3 at Malungon and Alabel Saranggani, Davao City, Tampakan South Cotabato , Intensity two at Tupi South Cotabato , General Santos City, Kiamba, Saranggani, while Sto. Nino, South Cotabato and Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat were at Intensity one.
An instrumental Intensity two was felt at Tupi and Koronadal City, South Cotabato, Glan, Saranggani, Nabunturan in Davao de Oro, while instrumental Intensity one was recorded in T’boli, South Cotabato, Maasin, Saranggani and Kidapawan City.
Phivolcs said the quake is not expected to bring damage to properties but urged the public to watch out for aftershocks
