DAMAGE to agriculture brought about by the recent Magnitude 7 earthquake in Abra that was also felt in other parts of northern Luzon ballooned to P269.1 million.
This is based on data provided by the Disaster and Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Operations Center of the Department of Agriculture (DA).
Among the infrastructure damaged were irrigation systems, farm-to-market roads, farm structures, livestock and poultry.
There was no reported damage on farmlands as of now.
The DA Cordillera Regional Office also reported that over 60 agriculture facilities were damaged due to cracks from the strong earthquake, while livestock were covered with debris.
The DA said assessment of damage due to the tremor will continue.
