THE Department of Health (DOH) reported 12,414 cases in the country from May 8 up to May 14, 2023.
This means that the daily average of COVID-19 cases in the country rose to 1,773 cases for the same period, which is 31 percent higher compared to the number of cases registered from May 1 to 7, 2023.
Among the new cases, 53 were considered severe and in critical condition. Also, there were no fatalities recorded from May 1 to 14.
On May 14, 2023, there were 437 severe and critically ill patients admitted in COVID-19 hospitals. Of the 2,093 ICU beds for patients with COVID-19, 394 or 18.8 percent are occupied. Meanwhile, 3,791 or 21.7 percent of the 17,454 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are currently being used.
More than 78 million individuals or 100.44 percent of the target population are already vaccinated against COVID-19 while 23 million individuals already received their booster shots. On the other hand, 7.1 million senior citizens or 82.16 percent of the target A2 population have received their primary series.
