The Department of Health (DOH) recorded today an additional 6,831 new COVID-19 infections in the country.
This brings the overall COVID-19 case count to a 1,178,217 total. Active cases, on the other hand, continue to fall below the 60 thousand level with a 54,326 count registered today, according to the DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin #434.
In terms of recoveries, 7,981 individuals were recorded to have recovered from the dreaded disease for a 1,103,945 total, or 93.7 percent of the overall total number of cases in the country.
There were also 183 deaths added to the list, which brings the total COVID-19 fatalities to 19,946, or 1.69 percent of the total COVID-19 cases..
Based on latest reports, all laboratories were operational last May 20, 2021. However, three laboratories failed to submit data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
Also, as per data from the past 14 days, the contribution of these three laboratories were, on average, at 0.7 percent of all samples tested, and 0.9 percent of all positive individuals.
There were also 17 duplicates according to the DOH that were removed from the total case count, where 14 were tagged as recoveries.
Moreover, 131 cases earlier tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
