COVID-19 cases in the Philippines is getting dangerously close to the 1-million mark, as per the latest bulletin from the Department of Health (DOH).
In the latest DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin # 397, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has jumped to a 904,285 total after the DOH recorded 11,429 new COVID-19 cases today, April 15, 2021.
Total recoveries from the COVID-19 disease reached 705,164 after an additional 856 recoveries were recorded today. The number of deaths, meanwhile, reached 15,594 after 148 people died today of the dreaded disease.
The active cases totaling 183,527 are being treated at COVID-19 hospitals and facilities.
There were also 24 duplicates that were removed from the total case count wherein there were 10 recoveries while one person died.
There were also 68 cases tagged as recoveries but were re-classified as deaths after validation.
Around 17 COVID-19 licensed laboratories failed to submit their data.
With the continuing rise in COVID-19 cases, the DOH reminds the public to take into their hearts and minds the importance of observing safety and health protocols to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 in the communities.
