COVID-19 update: Back to the 12k range of new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 12,225 new COVID-19 cases today, April 9, based on its latest case bulletin.

The DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin #391 also showed a high rate of recoveries registered at 946 and also COVID-19 deaths at 401.

Overall number of cases already reached 840,554, recoveries at 647,683 and 14,520 for COVID-19 deaths.

Active cases are at 178,351, most of which are mild cases 97.5 percent while 1.4 percent are asymptomatic.

There were 37 duplicates that were removed from the total case count wherein 18  were tagged as recoveries.

Aside from this, there were 213 cases initially tagged as recoveries but were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

The DOH again reiterated its call to the public to continue following and observing safety and health protocols and minimum public health standards to avoid the further spread of the disease.
