COVID-19 cases inching closer to the 1-million mark

With an additional 10,726 new cases recorded today, the total case count for COVID-19 cases in the Philippines continues to inch dangerously close to the 1-million mark.

Thus, total COVID-19 cases in the country is now at 914,971 based on the DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin #398 issued today, April 16, 2021.

In terms of recoveries, 650 were added to the list, which brings the total recoveries to 705,757, while the total number of deaths went up to 15,738 after 145 deaths were recorded today.

Active cases is now at 193,476, where 96.0 percent are mild cases while 2.9 percent are asymptomatic.

The DOH continues to remind the public not to be complacent in observing caution so as to prevent the spread of the virus for the safety of others.

The reminder also advises the public to coordinate with the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) or with the One COVID Referral Center immediately to avail of any assistance on what to do at the onset of any symptoms.
