Covid-19 cases in Bulacan drop by 96%

The number of cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Bulacan province has dropped to 96% due to intensified campaign by the provincial government and strengthening of health services to battle the deadly virus.

Governor Daniel Fernando states that the data are based on recoveries continues to increase compared to confirmed cases as well as other suspected and daily new recorded cases.

According to the Provincial Health Office (PHO), the numbers of those who recovered from COVID-19 was 6,201; 1,234 active cases while 162 recorded deaths.

At the height of the pandemic, there were 200-350 confirmed cases in Bulacan recorded daily compared nowadays to only 10-15 cases per day.

The governor said the constructed molecular and diagnostic centers and quarantine facilities are in fact the assets in reducing the COVID-19 cases in the province.

Fernando also stressed that the continuous strengthening of health services from provincial, municipalities and barangays are keys to combat the spread of the virus.

Although COVID-19 cases are low in the province, Fernando regrets the increase in cases in parts of Northern Luzon, particularly in Cagayan.

The governor continues to remind Bulakenyos to follow the instructions of the DOH and by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) regarding the health protocols strictly implemented.
