A TOTAL of 3.6 million doses of expired COVID-19 vaccines will be replaced by the COVAX Facility.
As for the COVID-19 vaccines procured by the government, the Department of Health (DOH) said it will also request the COVAX Facilitiy to replace them.
In President Rodrigo Duterte’s “Talk to the People,” DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III said they are still waiting for the response of the COVAX Facility.
According to Duque, they had a meeting yesterday with the COVAX Facility.
Despite this, Duque emphasized that this number is only 1.46 percent of the total inventory of vaccines the country has, which is a small percentage.
This news brought joy to President Duterte, who said that this is welcome news so the vaccines won’t go to waste and will be replaced so that it can be administered to more Filipinos.
