Concentrix Biyaheng Bayanihan Program Eases Commute Burdens for Employees and PUV Drivers

Commuting in the Philippines has always been a test of patience, but the recent surge in fuel prices has turned the daily trek into a significant financial burden. For many Filipino workers, especially those in the BPO sector who often work late shifts, the rising cost of transport isn’t just an inconvenience — it is a direct hit to their take-home pay. Recognizing this struggle, Concentrix Philippines has stepped up with a creative and community-focused solution called Hatid Game-Changers: Biyaheng Bayanihan.

This initiative is a strategic expansion of the company’s existing transport support. While the firm already operates a free Point-to-Point (P2P) bus program across the NCR Plus region, this new project specifically targets local transport providers like jeepney and van drivers who are also feeling the pinch of the fuel crisis. By integrating these local heroes into their corporate shuttle system, the company is hitting two birds with one stone: providing free, reliable rides for their staff and ensuring a steady income for public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers.

The program is currently operational in key areas where employee density is high. In Metro Manila, the initiative has partnered with 35 jeepney drivers covering essential routes through Rizal, Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Manila, and Makati. Recognizing the need for similar support in the Visayas, the program has also onboarded nine van drivers in Cebu, servicing routes across Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, and Cebu City.

What makes this program stand out is the “Bayanihan” spirit at its core. Instead of simply hiring private shuttle fleets, the company is funding both the fuel costs and the guaranteed daily income of these partner drivers. This creates a stable environment for the drivers, who no longer have to worry about fluctuating ridership or skyrocketing diesel prices. For the employees, known within the company as game-changers, the process is simple: they look for the branded vehicles and present their company ID to board.

The scale of this support is massive. Concentrix is investing nearly PHP180 million across various transportation programs this year. While the Hatid Game-Changers initiative is currently a temporary measure designed to address the immediate fuel crisis, its impact is already being felt on the ground. Staff members have reported that the service significantly reduces daily stress and allows them to save money that would otherwise go toward expensive fares.

Amit Jagga, the Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer for the Philippines, emphasizes that this move is an active expression of the company’s values. By including jeepney and van drivers in the fold, the company extends its corporate responsibility beyond its office walls and directly into the local communities.

With a workforce of over 100,000 in the Philippines, the company’s influence is vast. Initiatives like this explain why they have consistently ranked among the top workplaces in Asia. By addressing the very real, very physical challenge of getting to work safely and affordably, they reinforce their “people-first” culture.

In an industry where talent retention is key, providing a “lifeline” during economic shifts is a smart move. It shows that the company isn’t just looking at performance metrics, but also at the welfare of the people behind the headsets and the drivers who keep the country moving. As the economic landscape continues to evolve, this model of “Biyaheng Bayanihan” serves as a blueprint for how large corporations can support both their employees and the local transport sector during challenging times.
