THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) welcomes its newest commissioner, Atty. Rey Bulay.
Atty. Bulay was nominated to the Comelec by President Rodrigo Duterte to replace Atty. Luie Tito Guia.
In a statement, Comelec Chairman Sheriff Abas welcomed Atty. Bulay’s nomination to the poll body. “Atty. Bulay is a timely addition to the Comelec en banc especially now that we are in the midst of preparations for the 2022 National and Local elections. His vast experience in law enforcement and the pursuit of good governance will greatly contribute to the Commission’s thrust in the advancement of honest, orderly, peaceful, credible and safe elections.”
His term expires on February 2, 2027.
Prior to his appointment, Atty. Bulay, a graduate of the San Beda College of Law, was the Chief City Prosecutor of Manila and former Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) commissioner,
Atty. Bulay also served as Muntinlupa City councilor from 1988 to 1998 and from 2007 to 2010, and was also president of the Councilors League of the Philippines.
