THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) said it will discuss the merits of the petition to cancel the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for president filed by former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. last November 26.
According to Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez, said procedure is called “preliminary conference.”
“The preliminary conference will be for purposes of clarifying positions and matters related to the petitions,“ Jimenez said in an interview.
Jimenez added that the parties will then have three days to submit their respective memoranda and cases that will be deemed submitted for resolution.
Several groups filed disqualification petitions against Marcos in relation to his tax evasion case.
