Philippine-based cryptocurrency firm Coins.ph recently announced that it will officially list the CRETA World token on July 8, 2024 to its list of cryptocurrencies. The announcement was made during the CRETA Philippine Media Day at Taguig City where the global Web3 company also announced the launch of its multiverse gaming entertainment platform in the Southeast Asian region.
CRETA Partner and League of Legends Executive Producer Thomas Vu said aside from the CRETA World token’s entry to the Philippine market, he was also excited of the CRETA platform’s launch in Southeast Asia because of how it will change the Web3 experience for Filipinos.
“To me, this is the holy grail,” Vu said. “It’s not just for games. It will be for many things like interactive media and music, even location-based experiences and animations we created. It’s a platform where all those things are integrated, shareable, and cross-connected to the metaverese and social media platforms.”
Donald Lim, President of the Blockchain Council of the Philippines, said CRETA’s presence in the country is a significant milestone not just for the online gaming industry but also for advocates of Web3 technology.
“In the realm of Web3 where blockchain can unleash so much opportunities, we are already looking at the new future. CRETA is not just about a platform or a game or a token but is about inclusion and empowerment. And what better way than to empower a country with a hundred million population with a median age of 24 years old having the top downloads of crypto wallets? The Philippines is the right market for CRETA.”
Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary for ICT Industry Development Jocelle Batapa-Sigue also welcomed the decision of CRETA to choose the Philippines as its launch pad in Southeast Asia since the country is seeing a surge of users engaging in digital finance, particularly Metamask power users. “This demonstrates a robust interest and adoption of blockchain technologies which are essential for a Web 3.0 ecosystem.”
“The Philippines is doing its very best to create a business-friendly environment for digital enterprises,” she added. The agency, under the direction of Secretary Ivan Uy, made it a point to really engage with the private sector such as the Blockchain Council of the Philippines because we want to drive a business-friendly environment because it will underpin the growth of Web 3.0 by providing a stable and supportive framework for innovation, investment, talent development, and collaboration.”
CRETA Multiverse – Next-generation platform
According to CRETA Chief Creative Officer Ray Nakazato, the company implements S2E (Share to Earn), which combines user video-sharing platforms with typical P2E (Play to Earn) and C2E (Create to Earn) features. CRETA also uses its low-cost blockchain technology Locus Chain that makes their platform stable, cost-effective, and sustainable.
Filipinos who are interested to engage into the CRETA World can explore the online platform’s four pillars – its Studio game creation tool, Games platform, its Multiverse platform, and its very own social media Super Club.
With Super Club, users don’t have to create a third-party account to access the different services of CRETA. It is also here where users can trade and grant user ownership using Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).
In addition, Nakazato said they also have the CRETA Nexus, a crowdfunding platform which third-party game developers and creators can use to seek funding for their games.
