Coast Guard ready against Typhoon “Odette”

THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said it is ready with the onslaught of Typhoon “Odette.”

The PCG District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) expressed its readiness for possible evacuation and rescue operation that will be conducted due to Typhoon #OdettePH. 

CGDSEM Commander, CG Commodore Allan Corpuz also reminded the deployable response groups (DRGs) and quick response teams (QRTs) to remain alert at all times, especially when the typhoon finally hits.

Corpuz also made sure that their search and rescue (SAR) assets to ensure the safety and welfare of Filipino families who will be affected by the typhoon.

In its latest update by the PCG this morning, seas in the Bicol region are already experiencing moderate to rough conditions.

Particularly affected is the Port of Matnog wherein 530 passengers are currently stranded, including drivers and helpers, and 315 rolling cargoes..

Also stranded in northeastern Mindanao are 104 individuals and 51 rolling cargoes.
