Classes in public schools to start on August 22

THE Department of Education (DepEd) announced that classes in the country’s public schools for School Year 2022-2023 will start on August 22, 2022.

This is according to DepEd Order No. 34 Series of 2022 that was released by the agency and signed by Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Based on the school calendar and activities of DepEd, there are a total of 203 school days that will last until July 7, 2023.

Enrollment will begin this coming July 25 up to August 22 or the actual opening of classes.

According to DepEd, the public schools that have already started implementing face-to-face classes shall continue with the same system.

For schools that are not yet ready for face-to-face classes, on the other hand, blended learning will be implemented and will be given until November 2 for the transition back to face-to-face classes.

On November 2, 2022, all public and private schools in the country are expected to implement face-to-face classes for a total of five days each week.
