To go fully digital in its operations and provide its customers with a contactless access to its products, Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI), which owns chicken brand Chooks-to-Go, enlisted the services of Globe Business, the telco’s enterprise-level digital solutions provider.

Globe and its digital marketing subsidiary AdSpark worked to help develop a chatbot ordering platform hosted on Facebook Messenger.

Ronald Mascariñas, BAVI President, said that when the lockdown took place, they were faced with stumbling blocks in their supply chain, distribution and on-ground operations. It forced them to temporarily close down about 40% of the business’ primary distribution channel, which is their stores.

“This situation pushed us to strengthen and streamline our efforts online. We wanted to give our customers convenient access to their favorite roasted chicken products so we explored several mediums of communication for our rolling stores and amped up our social media pages with brand updates,” Mascariñas shared.

Mascariñas said that with Globe and AdSpark’s assistance, they were able to add a fast and easy ordering system through chatbot messaging. He said that this form of engagement with their customers complements their substantial shift to online.

The new chatbot-enabled platform, built from the ground up, enables those thinking of buying Chooks-to-Go to view the list of products available in their locations. Through the chatbot, customers can simply input their order–type of product and quantity–and submit their order for processing and delivery. Once products are delivered, customers can make payments via cash or the GCash QR codes provided by delivery riders.

“The majority of internet users in the Philippines are spending more time on messaging apps. In fact, usage of Facebook Messenger calls and chats went through the roof at the onset of the outbreak,” Peter Maquera, Senior Vice President for Globe Business, pointed out. “We’re glad to support businesses and help them find solutions, especially during this time when technology is needed the most. We look forward to seeing BAVI innovate the way they reach customers, maximize online channels, and transform their operations.”

Maquera said Globe Business and AdSpark will continue to assist BAVI in their digital transformation journey that will hopefully provide customers with a quick and seamless ordering process that doesn’t require physical store visits.

Aside from promoting product accessibility and safety for both customers and employees, the collaboration opens opportunities for BAVI to boost sales, increase online engagements, and expand its reach so that more Filipinos can enjoy goods from Chooks-to-Go.

“We believe that now is a crucial moment for businesses to work together and transform digitally so that all Filipinos can access choices, overcome challenges, and discover new ways to enjoy life,” Maquera added.

Currently, BAVI has over 1,200 Chooks-to-Go outlets nationwide.
