Caloocan City – In a major breakthrough in the fight against illegal drugs, the Caloocan City Police Station – Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) successfully apprehended four drug suspects during a buy-bust operation in Barangay 185, Malaria, Caloocan City.
The operation, carried out at around 7:25 AM on March 11, 2025, was led by Police Col Edcille V. Canals, Chief of Police, in coordination with Sub-Station 14 and Sub-Station 15 of the Caloocan City Police Station under the Northern Police District (NPD).
Suspects and Seized Evidence
The arrested individuals were identified as:
- 25-year-old female encoder
- 49-year-old unemployed male
- 26-year-old male construction worker
- 23-year-old male painter
All suspects are residents of Caloocan City.
Authorities confiscated approximately 90.5 kilograms of suspected marijuana, valued at PHP 10,860,000. Among the seized evidence were:
- Bricks of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops
- Elongated plastic sachets and vacuum-sealed packs of marijuana
- A dusted PHP 500 bill and five PHP 1,000 boodle bills used in the transaction
- Three black boxes, two large transparent plastic containers, and a white weighing scale
Legal Action and Commendations
The suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), with necessary legal documents now being prepared.
PCOL Josefino D. Ligan, Acting District Director of the National Police Department (NPD), praised the Caloocan City Police for their unwavering commitment to dismantling illegal drug networks and maintaining peace and order in the community.
