Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan on Wednesday announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
“Ikinalulungkot kong ipabatid na ako ay nakumpirmang positibo sa COVID -19,” Malapitan said in a Facebook post.
However, Malapitan stressed that he is in good condition and has assured Caloocan residents that the City government will continue to do its responsibility and mandate to address their needs.
The local official also advised those who had contact with him to undergo self-quarantine and COVID-19 testing.
“Hinihikayat ko ang aking mga close contact nitong mga nakaraang araw na kaagad magself-quarantine at sumailalim sa swab test. Mayroon tayong regular na libreng RT-PCR test para sa ating mga mamamayan. Makipag-ugnayan lamang tayo sa ating City Health Department o sa Barangay Health Center na nakakasakop sa inyo.
