A MAN long wanted for rape and tagged as the Most Wanted Person of Cagayan de Oro City who has long eluded the law was finally nabbed by the police during a manhunt operation in Malabon City the other day.
Malabon police chief Col. Albert Barot identified the accused as James Ronase, 47 years old, a driver and former resident of PN ROA Calaanan, Canitoan, Cagayan De Oro City and presently residing at No. 82 Kaunlaran St., Brgy., Muzon, Malabon City.
According to Col. Barot, the accused was nabbed by members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) of the Malabon police under P/Major Patrick Alvarado, together with operatives from the 4th Mobile Force Company Regional Mobile Force Battalion-National Capital Region Police Office (MFC RMFB-NCRPO) of the Malabon City Police Station at around 3:15 p.m.
The accused was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued last February 22, 2016 by Presiding Judge Jose Escobido of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Misamis Oriental, Branch 37, Cagayan De Oro City for Rape by Sexual Assault (2 counts) and Sexual Abuse by Lascivious Conduct (2 counts).
A total of P200,000 per case was the recommended bail amount for the accused’s temporary liberty.
