THE Court of Appeals allowed Rappler CEO Maria Ressa to fly to the US to personally receive a prestigious award this coming Saturday, February 19, 2022.
In a five-page resolution by the CA Special 7th Division, it granted Ressa’s Urgent Motion to Travel Abroad starting today up to February 22 so she can attend the 2022 Woodrow Wilson Award to be held at Princeton University in New Jersey, USA.
Among the conditions set by the CA in allowing Ressa to travel abroad is she needs to return to the country by February 22 and to formally inform the CA within 24 hours of her arrival in the country.
The cash bond of P500,000 that she used in a previous trip abroad and is now with the CA’s Cash Division can again be used by Ressa for this new overseas trip.
