Bulacan Provincial Administrator Antonette Constantino clarified that the provincial government will add 200 regular hospital beds in their provincial COVID center facilities and not 200 ICU beds.
“We just want to clarify so that the people will know and not be confused. It is an additional 200 ‘hospital beds’ that will accommodate moderate to critical COVID suspect/positive patients,” she said.
This was in relation to the COVID Surge Capacity Design of the provincial government in helping to fight the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the province.
The additional 200 beds for COVID patients will be placed at the Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) and Bulacan Infection Control Center (BICC).
Gov. Fernando said BMC and BICC will be the primary COVID Referral Facilities for moderate to critical COVID-19 suspected and positive patients.
The governor said the BMC OB Ward is where the said additional 200 beds will be placed for high-risk COVID patients in addition to the ICU section in the BICC while the OB Ward will be transferred to Calumpit District Hospital.
