THE full force of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) is ready and all set for the elections on Monday, May 9, 2022.
According to BJMP Spokesperson J/Supt. Xavier Solda, the BJMP is already implementing tighter security measures starting from the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) escorted out of jail facilities up to their return.
There are about 33,409 registered PDLs with 30,726 voting on-site or on regular polling centers while 2,683 will vote offsite or inside the jail facility.
Solda explained that PDLs will only be allowed to vote offsite if there are 50 or lower PDLs registered inside a jail facility.
There will also be special lanes allotted for PDLs inside the regular precincts to ensure their security and prevent their relatives and loved who are waiting for them from getting close.
