Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar today has visited Laguna.
Andanar was designated as “Big Brother” of said province, one of the typhoon hit areas in Calabarzon region, to conduct an “Explain, Explain, Explain” conference to deliver information and assistance to the local government affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Various government agencies like the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agriculture, Department of Interior Local Government, Department of Health, Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and the Mayor of Laguna were invited to discuss recovery plan.
Andanar calls all agencies to make changes and do whatever it can to inspire others to show that the national and local governments are united in fighting the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez announced that the number of active cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19 in the province are continuing to decreased.
According to the latest data released by the Department of Health Region 4A last October 31, there are 7,939 active cases, 403 new recoveries and 9 deaths.
Cavite province had the most active cases with 2,190, followed by Rizal with 2,086, Laguna 1,431 active cases, Quezon 1,415 active cases and Batangas 817.
