QUEZON City Mayor Joy Belmonte has once again been recognized for her outstanding public service, emerging as the regional winner and a national-level semifinalist for the prestigious Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award.
Belmonte received the honor alongside her father, former Quezon City Mayor and House Speaker Feliciano “Sonny” Belmonte, during a ceremony led by Civil Service Commission (CSC) officials.“We are deeply grateful to CSC-NCR for this recognition, which reaffirms that our projects and programs for QCitizens are truly effective,” Mayor Belmonte said.
“This will further inspire us to continue striving for good governance and excellence in public service.”
The CSC-NCR highlighted Belmonte’s exemplary work ethic and professionalism, praising her commitment to initiatives that have a significant impact on the community, particularly her environmental and green programs.
This is not the first time Belmonte has been recognized with this honor.
Last year, she was also named a regional winner and national semifinalist for her dedication to protecting and promoting the welfare of vulnerable sectors, especially women and children.
Quezon City stood out as the only local government unit (LGU) in the National Capital Region (NCR) to bring home three CSC awards this year. Aside from Belmonte, Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD) Head Margie Mejia and Quezon City University (QCU) President Dr. Theresita Atienza were named CSC Pag-asa Awardees, further solidifying the city’s commitment to public service excellence.
Belmonte’s recognition underscores her passion for fostering meaningful change and her leadership in championing initiatives that benefit her constituents.
