BBM names Bello as MECO head; Nograles to remain as CSC chair

TWO more outgoing officials under Duterte shall remain under the administration of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.

Outgoing Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) chief Silvestre Bello III was named as the new chairman and Resident Representative-designate of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO).

Likewise, former Cabinet Secretary and acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles will remain as chairman of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Nograles wsa also the former First District representative of Davao City for eight years.

Bello was appointed DOLE chief back in 2016 while Nograles was among the ad interim appointees of President Rodrigo Duterte who were bypassed by the Commission on Appointments due to lack of quorum.

Nograles and Bello were among the Duterte officials who will now serve under the Marcos administration, including former Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas governor Benjamin Diokno, who is the Department of Finance Secretary-designate, and former Department of Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra, who is now the new Solicitor General.
