ACTING spokesperson of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Atty. John Rex Laudiangco will remain as the poll body’s mouthpiece.
This is based on the order signed by Acting Comelec Chairperson Socorro Inting last June 10, 2022.
Atty. Laudiangco, who is the Director of the Comelec Law Department, was earlier designated as acting spokesperson by then-Comelec Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan.
However, after the Commission on Appointments did not approve Pangarungan’s appointment as Comelec chair, his previous orders were revoked, including that of his designation of Atty. Laudiangco as acting spokesperson.
Thus, Atty Laudiangco remain as Acting Comelec spolesperson until such time a new Comelec Chairman is appointed by the incoming Marcos administration.
