Antipolo road rage ends in shooting: Four injured, suspect nabbed at checkpoint

Antipolo City, Rizal – A road rage incident along Marcos Highway in front of Café Sinauna, Sitio Calumpang, Brgy. San Jose, escalated into a shooting on March 30, 2025, at around 5:00 PM, leaving three individuals injured before the suspect was arrested at a checkpoint.

The Victims

The victims were identified as:

  • Peter Guzon Jr., 52, a businessman from Navotas, who sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
  • Patrick Guzon, 22, a college student, who was shot in the right arm.
  • Davis Menor, 29, who attempted to pacify the altercation but was shot in the right chest.

The Suspect

The alleged shooter was identified as Kenneth Alajar Bautista, 28, a businessman from Baras, Rizal, who was driving a black Toyota Fortuner (plate number DAN 7421) at the time of the incident.

The Incident and Arrest

According to reports, a concerned motorist alerted authorities at around 5:43 PM, stating that the suspect was fleeing toward Cogeo, Antipolo City. Responding officers from PCP 3 coordinated with Antipolo CCPS and launched OPLAN CABWEB to intercept the fleeing vehicle. The suspect was eventually apprehended at the border checkpoint in Masinag, Brgy. Mayamot.

Further investigation revealed that a heated argument between the suspect and victims escalated, leading Bautista to open fire. The victims were rushed to Cabading Hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine further details of the incident and the appropriate charges to be filed against the suspect.
