Abalos resigns as MMDA chair, to focus on Bongbong Marcos campaign

METROPOLITAN Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos quits his post effective today.

After his resignation, Abalos will now shift his focus on the presidential bid of former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., where he will serve as national campaign manager.

He also thanked President Rodrigo Duterte for the trust and confidence for appointing him as MMDA head.

Abalos served as MMDA chairman last January 2021. He replaced former MMDA Chairman Danny Lim, who died after contracting COVID-19.
