The number of new COVID-19 cases in the country dropped slightly, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
In the DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin No. 395, the number of new cases dropped to 8,571, which brings to 884,783 the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
There were also 400 recoveries and 137 deaths recorded today.
The number of total recoveries has now reached 703,963 while there are 15,286 total deaths from COVID-19 infections.
Active cases is now at 165,534, where 96.9 percent are mild cases and 1.8 percent are asymptomatic.
The DOH noted that the low number of cases reported today is because some laboratories were closed last Sunday, April 11.
Last Sunday, a total of 36 laboratories did not conduct testing operations.
