DITO Telecommunity has launched the DITO Gaming Modem, a new 5G home connectivity offering designed specifically for online gamers who require low latency, stable connections, and high-speed data.
Unveiled during the telecommunications company’s recent MAXX MODE ON event, the gaming-focused modem is part of DITO’s move toward developing more specialized connectivity products based on the needs and usage patterns of different customer segments.
The DITO Gaming Modem combines UNLI 5G connectivity with WiFi 6, Network Priority, and Gaming Turbo features aimed at providing a more responsive and stable experience during online gaming sessions.
WiFi 6 is designed to improve wireless capacity and efficiency, particularly in homes where multiple devices are connected simultaneously, while DITO’s Network Priority feature prioritizes gaming-related traffic. Gaming Turbo, meanwhile, is intended to further optimize connectivity and minimize lag during gameplay.
The offering reflects DITO’s strategy of moving beyond one-size-fits-all connectivity packages by developing services tailored to specific communities and their internet requirements.
“Different communities have different connectivity needs. With DITO Gaming, we listened to what matters to gamers and built an experience around how they actually play,” according to Atty. Adel Tamano, chief commercial officer of DITO Telecommunity.
The DITO Gaming Modem is currently available at a discounted price of PHP 6,990, inclusive of 15 days of UNLI 5G service and PHP 250 worth of Steam Wallet credits. After the initial 15-day period, customers can subscribe to 30 days of UNLI 5G for PHP 1,490, which also comes with PHP 50 worth of Steam Wallet credits.
With the new offering, DITO is positioning 5G fixed wireless connectivity as an alternative for Filipino gamers looking for a home internet service optimized specifically for gaming rather than general-purpose connectivity.
