Manulife Financial Asia wins ACES Award for Sustainability Leadership

HONG KONG — Manulife Financial Asia Limited has been named one of the Top Sustainability Advocates in Asia at the 2025 Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability (ACES) Awards, marking the insurer’s first regional-level win under the program.

The award recognizes Manulife’s sustainability initiatives across Asia, particularly its Impact Agenda, responsible investing strategy, and environmental stewardship programs. The company has integrated sustainability into its business operations, focusing on improving health and financial resilience while contributing to climate action.

This award is not just a recognition of our achievements—it’s a testament to our purpose-driven leadership and the measurable impact we’re making across Asia,” said Harshal Shah, Chief Marketing Officer of Manulife Financial Asia.

The ACES Awards, now in its 12th year, honor organizations demonstrating excellence in leadership, corporate growth, and sustainability. Winners undergo a stringent evaluation based on long-term strategy, ESG performance, ethical governance, and social impact.

Manulife highlighted several milestones in its sustainability journey, including its role as the world’s largest manager of natural capital with more than CAD$22 billion in timberland and agriculture assets under management. The company has reduced its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 27 percent, planted over 1.4 billion trees, and expanded community programs such as Peso Smart and MLK Scholars, which support youth education and financial literacy.

Manulife also underscored its commitment to workplace inclusion, supporting more than 39,000 employees and 109,000 agents worldwide. Its newly launched Manulife Longevity Institute aims to promote longer, healthier, and more financially secure lives globally by 2030.
