PCG holds joint rescue ops amid flooding in Romblon

THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said it conducted a series of successful rescue and evacuation operations in Barangay Tampayan, Magdiwang, Romblon, following heavy rains brought by a Low-Pressure Area (LPA) and shear line.

Joint responders rescued families who were trapped and isolated due to flash floods in Sitio Agnonoc, Sitio Log Deck, and Sitio Ilawod, Barangay Tampayan, Magdiwang, Romblon. All rescued families were safely evacuated and transferred to the Magdiwang Evacuation Center in Barangay Poblacion.

As of reporting time, a total of 23 families, consisting of 121 individuals, were assisted throughout the joint operations.

The PCG and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Magdiwang continue to remind the public to remain vigilant, stay updated on weather advisories, and immediately coordinate with local authorities during emergencies.

The affected residents were safely relocated by Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Magdiwang, together with the Magdiwang MDRRMO, the Philippine National Police, and the Bureau of Fire Protection.
