As The Search for the Happiest Pinoy 2025 moves closer to its awarding ceremony this December, Cebuana Lhuillier has officially introduced its distinguished panel of 11 judges. This esteemed group of leaders and advocates represents excellence across various fields: each one embodying compassion, optimism, and the Filipino spirit of resilience celebrated by the long-running program.
The judging panel brings together personalities from government, media, business, sports, and the social sector, all united by their shared commitment to uplifting communities and promoting positivity. Their diverse experiences and perspectives ensure that the selection process remains credible, inclusive, and reflective of the program’s values.
Heading the panel is Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, the city’s first female mayor and a prominent figure in governance, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion. With over 400 awards and citations from prestigious organizations, including the United Nations and Forbes, she has become a model of visionary leadership and inclusive public service.
She is joined by former Congresswoman Geraldine Roman, the first transgender woman elected to the Philippine Congress. Recognized internationally by Time Magazine, the World Economic Forum, and Foreign Policy, Roman is a strong advocate for equality, inclusivity, and human rights, breaking barriers and inspiring Filipinos to embrace diversity and authenticity.
Completing the roster of influential women is Pia Arcangel, an award-winning journalist and respected news anchor for GMA’s Saksi and 24 Oras Weekend. Her professionalism and empathy have made her one of the country’s most trusted media figures, serving as a voice of truth and integrity.
The lineup also includes Roxanne Montealegre-Luz, founder of A-List and Chinggay’s, who has been a consistent supporter of local artisans and family-centered enterprises in Marinduque. Alongside her is Jonathan D. Batangan, Executive Director of the Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc., whose leadership has strengthened the company’s social responsibility programs in financial inclusion, education, and disaster resilience.
The panel also welcomes Kim Fajardo, a celebrated volleyball athlete and youth role model whose leadership in sports continues to inspire young Filipinos; Sabrina Tamayo, founder of Project SMILE, a volunteer-driven initiative promoting empowerment and livelihood development; and Lester Mendoza, a social entrepreneur and advocate for sustainable agriculture who supports rural communities through eco-friendly and responsible farming practices.
Adding depth and authenticity to the selection process are The Happiest Pinoy’s former grand winners: Winston Maxino, motivational speaker and the first-ever awardee; Rommel Arellano, 2012 Happiest Pinoy and dedicated guidance counselor; and Zaldy Bueno, a nationally recognized educator and advocate for academic excellence. Their experiences as past winners bring invaluable insight into what it means to live with genuine joy, resilience, and purpose.
As the 2025 search reaches its final phase, the judges will determine who among this year’s finalists best represents the values of optimism, perseverance, and compassion that define the Filipino spirit. Since its inception, The Search for the Happiest Pinoy has served as Cebuana Lhuillier’s flagship advocacy — honoring ordinary Filipinos who, despite life’s challenges, continue to live with extraordinary positivity and an unwavering drive to make a difference in the lives of others.
