SANTA CRUZ, LAGUNA — The newly elected officials of the Provincial Government of Laguna were formally sworn into office on Wednesday, July 2, during an inauguration ceremony held at the Cultural Center of Laguna.
Governor Sol Aragones took her oath before Quezon Province Governor Dr. Helen Tan, while Vice Governor JM Carait and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan were sworn in by Governor Aragones.
In her inaugural address, Aragones laid out her administration’s core priorities, led by health-focused initiatives under her flagship program “Akay ni Sol”.
Among the first programs to roll out is the distribution of free maintenance medicines for senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and individuals with chronic illnesses, through the “Akay ni Sol Mobile Botika”.
To expand access to healthcare services, Aragones also announced the establishment of permanent “Akay ni Sol Botika” outlets in all six cities and 24 municipalities of Laguna.
Construction will begin in September 2025 and is expected to be completed by November 2025. These facilities will provide free medicines and medical consultations to underserved and vulnerable communities across the province.
Aragones also outlined the following priorities for her new term:
-The launch of the “Akay ni Sol App”, a digital booking and tracking system that will streamline the process of requesting medicines and accessing health services;
-The promotion of citizen journalism to boost local tourism, alongside the construction of symbolic tourism arches in key cities and towns;
A strong commitment to transparency and accountability in the use of public funds, emphasizing clean and honest governance.
The oath-taking ceremony marked the beginning of a new administration committed to inclusive healthcare, digital innovation, tourism revitalization, and principled public service.
